The artist’s fascination with florals began during his first stay in Key West—a place practically overflowing with blossoms and rich with inspiration. Over the years, he has painted a wide variety of flowers, including orchids, tulips, bee balm, Indian paintbrush, and poppies. One of his enduring favorites is the bird of paradise. He believes that tropical flowers, with their luminous delicacy, are best captured in watercolor, while the bold vibrancy of poppies demands the richness and depth of oil paint.
